Cherie McClemons Obituary

MASON CITY | Cherie Lee McClemons, age 59, of Mason City, passed away on Thursday evening, (August 28, 2014) at University of Hospitals and Clinics of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

A private graveside service was held on Friday, (September 5, 2014) at Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield, Iowa, with Reverend Denny Ganz officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Cherie, to the daughter, Heather L. McCarty, 1428 S. Harding, Mason City, Iowa 50401.

Cherie was born on September 30, 1954, in Mason City, the daughter of Kenneth Eugene McClemons and Rose Marie (Patton) McClemons.

Cherie loved to play the piano, read and enjoyed her gadgets. She tinkered with her TV remote, her DVD player and her cell phone all the time. She cherished her cats and was of the Methodist faith. When she was working she was a caregiver at area nursing homes.

Cherie is survived by her loving mother, Rose M. McClemons of Mason City, her daughter, Heather L. McCarty of Mason City, her brother, Dan (Carol) McClemons of Mason City, and one grandson, Zachary McCarty of Miami, OK.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth McClemons in 1992 and her companion, Jesse William Pierce on August 27, 2014.
