Gary C. Ward, 62, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017, at his residence after battling a chronic illness.
Upon the family's wishes, he was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date in his home town of Mason City, IA.
Gary began his 32 year career with Peska Construction out of Sioux Falls, SD by finishing the concrete work of Southbridge Mall in Mason City, IA. He was part of finishing major retail and community concrete projects throughout the Midwest with the company. Gary enjoyed fishing, taking trips on his motorcycle, and visiting his family.
Gary is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Treanor (Kunzman), Mason City; Sister, Melody (Timothy) Harty, Nora Springs, IA; former spouse Denise Ward, Mason City, IA; His two sons, Franklin Ward, Sewell, NJ and Randy (Sami) Ward, Manhattan Beach, CA; Two grandchildren, Ryli and Hayli Ward, Manhattan Beach, CA; Niece, Stacy Harty, Dubuque, IA; And many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anna Kunzman and Charles Kunzman, paternal grandparents Clarence Ward Sr and Ruby Ward, his father, Clarence Junior Ward; Step-father Richard (Dick) Treanor, and brothers, Matthew N. Ward and Terry E. Ward.
