MASON CITY --- Helga Speckmeier, 91, of Clear Lake, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral; however, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Helga was born September 9, 1927, daughter of Gustouf and Lucy Ludecke in Burg, East Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1954, with her husband Konrad Speckmeier. Where they resided in Omaha, Nebraska until 1965, then they moved to Mason City, Iowa and bought the Mason City Tile and Marble Company until their retirement in 1993.
Helga enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Helga was an amazing seamstress and kept an impeccable house.
Helga is survived by Reinhold (Debera) Speckmeier of Mason City; grandson, Reinhold Speckmeier Jr.; three great grandchildren, Toby, Gideon, Grayson; brother in-law, Wolf Speckmeier; nieces, nephews, one nephew, employed at Mason City Tile and Marble Company, Tim Woodburn of Mason City.
Helga is preceded in death by her parents, Gustouf and Lucy Ludecke and husband, Konrad Speckmeier.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.
