OSAGE | Iona Jean Kozlowski, age 83, of Osage, died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Faith Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.
Iona was born June 11, 1932, in Mitchell, Iowa, the daughter of Gib and Rosie (Curin) Smith. She married Leroy "Roy" Kozlowski on April 24, 1949, at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Chicago. In 1955, they returned to Iowa.
Iona was a study hall supervisor at Osage High School for 25 years. She also raised Pomeranian dogs. Iona was a wonderful cook and made many apple pies when her children were small. She was an avid seamstress and sewed most of her daughters' clothes. Iona enjoyed reading, decorating her home with antiques, and going out to eat with her husband.
Iona is survived by her husband, Leroy "Roy" Kozlowski of Osage; her children, Steven (Donna) Kozlowski of Orchard, Sister Reneé (Dick) Mauser of Osage, and Doreen (Mike) Kittridge of Big Lake, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two granddaughters.
