July 14, 1935 - December 12, 2025

MASON CITY, Iowa - James "Jim" Arnold Wright, 90, of Mason City, died peacefully on

Dec. 12, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church. 302 5th St SE, Mason City, with Rev. Ben Valentine as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Elmwood St Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hogan

Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd ST NE, Mason City, where a Rosary will be led

followed by a Scriptural Wake service beginning at 4 p.m.

The family kindly suggests that those wishing to make a memorial donation consider the

Newman Catholic School Foundation.

He was born July 14, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Harry and Marion (Stone) Wright, and grew up in Minneapolis and Clear Lake. He married Jean Marie Cahalan at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City on October 5, 1957. They were married for 68 years and raised six children together. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and their children, Scot (Pat) Wright, Nancy (Dan) Broderick, Mark (Ann Marie Monahan) Wright, Tracy (Bernie) Schofield, Brad (Brenda Feit) Wright, and Amy (Doug) Koch. Jim is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Jim's professional life reflected his integrity and dedication. Jim worked as a car salesman before becoming a certified welder and pipefitter. He then earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and founded Comfort, Inc., an HVAC company, in 1967.

Jim was also active in many community organizations throughout his life. He served as president of the North Iowa Builders Exchange and the Mason City YMCA, and participated in the Mason City Chamber of Commerce, St. Joseph Catholic Church parish board, the Newman Knights Booster Club and the Mason City School Board.

Jim enjoyed many hobbies, especially fishing, biking, golfing, barbecuing, playing cards, flying his airplane and working with computers. Above all else, Jim cherished his family and friends.

Jim touched the lives of many through his kindness, compassion and willingness to help others. His wisdom, humor and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Grant Wright.
