Leonora the went on to attend Waldorf College, where she studied to be an educator.

After teaching for a few years following college, she was married to Ervin Johnson on June 15, 1934, at Holmes. To this union four children were born: Janelle, Ardith, Ervin and Gordon. She enjoyed making hundreds of quilts with the church ladies for Lutheran World Relief and had been active in the church circle. During her later years she enjoyed being a member of the Belmond Senior Citizens and participating in many of the activities of the retirement community.

Our hearts go out to you and your family as you grieve the death of "Mom". Death of one who has lived such a long life here on earth will be bittersweet for you as it was for us when Mom passed on to her eternal reward in April. We wouldn't wish them to linger here in pain any longer for their sake, only for ours. We will uphold your family in prayer. May God grant you peace, dear cousins.
