Michael McKibben Obituary
Michael was born on Nov. 13, 1956, to Gary and Marie (Brown) McKibben in Mason City, Iowa. During his short lifetime Michael lived in many states, but his dream was always to live in Wyoming.
In 2005 he moved out to Cody, Wyo., and fulfilled that dream. Michael was an avid hunter. He loved packing horseback into the mountains to find the perfect hunting spot or just to enjoy the beauty of Wyoming. Michael was a very hard worker, spending much of his life as a carpet installer, and the last several years as a cement truck driver.
Grateful to have shared his life are his fiance and companion of 22 years Penny Perry, Cody, Wyo.; sons Shawn (Dawn) McKibben, Nora Springs, Iowa; Christopher McKibben, Mason City, Iowa; daughter Amy McKibben, California; grandchildren, McKanzi and Hunter; father, Gary McKibben, Barefoot Bay, Fla.; mother, Marie Marsh, Mason City, Iowa; brother Dana (Cathy) Cavanaugh, Mason City, Iowa; sister, Carol (Dave) Snider of Forest City, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend "Peewee" Steve Rickard, Cody, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cloyd and Gertie Brown, Carroll and Thelma Day, and Virgil and Margaret McKibben.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

To the family of Mike Mckibben,what a shock for you, and everyone that knew him.Mike was one of my best friends back in J.H. we wrestled,played football,and chased girls together. As we grew older we did not see eachother as much, but I will never forget our time together, also that big funny laugh that Mike had, and that huge smile he always had.

Mike is one of the nicest men I ever knew and I considered him one of my best friends as well as my brother-in-law even though him and Penny weren't married. Shawn, Donald & I were deeply saddened by the death of your dad. Only met him a couple of times, but was impressed by his love for his kids. If there is anything we can do, just let us know.
