Michael Perkins
October 20, 1965-February 28, 2024
Michael "Buck" Perkins, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2024, at his home in Culpeper, Virginia.
Mike was born on October 20, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in northern Iowa where he graduated in 1984 from Mason City High School. After high school, Mike joined the United States Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier throughout his commitment to the Navy. While in the military, Mike met his future wife Wilma in the Philippines. After several years of marriage, they later divorced.
After his military commitment, Mike pursued a career as an over-the-road truck driver until he went to work for Superior Paving Corp. in Virginia. He has been employed with Superior Paving for the last 19 years. Mike had an incredible work ethic to go along with his huge heart. He enjoyed time with his "buddies", and a good cigar along with a glass of his favorite bourbon. Everybody loved Mike, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Ron & Cleone Perkins. Mike is survived and lovingly remembered by his brothers, Randy Perkins (Chris) of Walford, IA, Tim Perkins (Michelle) of Scottsbluff, NE and sister, Shannon Cooper (Shane) of Beloit, WI. Mike, will be fondly remembered as "Uncle Buck" to his nieces, Nikkole Wilson of Culpeper, VA, Brittany Perkins of Des Moines, IA, Ashley Perkins of Beloit, WI; and his nephews, Josh Perkins of Denver CO, Cory Perkins of Knoxville, TN and Jaccob Cooper of Machesney Park, IL. "Uncle Buck" also had two great nephews, Liam and Crew; and one great niece, Aulora. He was so proud of each and every one of them!
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, with Pastor Ron Young officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
