Randy Ray (Summers) Hammond Sr passed away in the early morning hours of April 25, 2021, following his battle with cancer. He spent his last days at his home in Concrete, Washington surrounded by his family.
Randy was born in Seattle, Washington on February 20, 1957 to Orlin Ray Summers and Roma Jean (Williams) Summers-Hammond. Randy was raised in Sunnyside, Washington and Springfield, Oregon by his Mother and Step-father, Earl Hammond, until his family then relocated to Skagit Valley, mainly Sedro-Woolley, where he attended High School.
After High School, Randy worked a wide variety of jobs, starting with the Sedro-Woolley DNR, then moving to work in the Apple orchards and Farming in the 1980s. In the 1990s, Telephone and House Contracting kept him busy, until he found himself at home Managing the Texaco (Trail Road) Lube Shop in Sedro-Woolley, gaining the respect and gratitude of the local community for his constant dedication to customer's well-being and their vehicle safety too. Many will remember him by sarcastic witt and flashy, contagious smile.
Randy spent his free time emersed in his hobbies. He loved working on old classic cars, spending time with his family and especially soaking up as much time as he possibly could with his grandchildren. No one will ever to be able to forget his love for splitting and stacking wood. Some say he enjoyed his wood stacks almost as much as his family. Between work and home life, family and friends, he was viewed as a 'Jack of all trades, Master of all.'
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Hammond, Roma Jean (Williams) Summers-Hammond, and Orlin Summers.
He is survived by his Love of Life, Kathy Terwillegar. Four sons: Josh Hammond (Beth) Randy Ray Hammond Jr (Rebecca, Jaymie) Richard Hammond (Taunya) Robert Hammond (Jessica). Siblings: Tracey (Summers) Holmes, Lisa Summers-Kutsch, Cheryl Hammond, Linda Evans, Lori Meyer and Ricky Hammond. Grandchildren: Taysha, Ivy, Clayton, Kaydence, Madison, Ryan, Jordyn, Kyller, Kynzlee, Liam and TimberLynn. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for July 25th Riverfront Park at 1PM
