March 2, 2017

Heaven just gained a new angel as Sharene Randell Elander, 79 passed away peacefully on March 2nd surrounded by her loving family.

A Seattle native, she was born at Swedish Hospital to Cyril and Margaret Randell on Feb 11, 1938.

Sharene attended Bellevue High School ('55) and graduated from the U W ('59) where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and a student body officer.

Upon graduating, she married Zac Elander and became an Air Force wife settling in Dover, DE where her two children, Blair and Caron were born.

After moving back to Bellevue, Sharene began a distinguished career of child raising, fund raising and planning numerous world travels. She was a board member and major fund raiser for MONA and Maple Hall in La Conner, and the Anacortes Arts
Commission. Sharene was an avid book reader and long-time member of two significant book clubs. She had a heart for bringing art and literature to all ages. Throughout her life she was the epitome of sophistication, class and grace.

Sharene leaves behind Zac, her husband of 57 years; son Blair (Ruth), daughter Caron Teijen ( Fred) plus her greatly loved grandchildren, Justin Medsker, Brooke Elander, and Andrew and Lyle Teijen.

She is predeceased by her parents, brother Cyril "Randy" Randell, and grandson Brett Elander.
