Alice Cooke Obituary
May 14, 1930 - August 27, 2023
Cooke, Alice Fitzgerald, age 93 of Bon Air, VA passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 27, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Lacy and Mae Fitzgerald of Danville, Va. Alice was also preceded in death by her siblings Edna Wilson, Mildred Coleman, Mary LaRue, Garland Fitzgerald, and Tommy Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Roy F. Cooke Jr, sons: Scott Cooke of Richmond, Steven Cooke of Raleigh, NC, and Kevin Cooke of Richmond, Va, along with her daughter-in-law Heather Cooke, and her grandchildren Paige Cooke and Evan Cooke of Richmond, Va.
Alice was born on May 14th, 1930 in Danville, VA. She lived on Dallas Avenue and went to Schoolfield High School where she graduated in 1948 before moving to Richmond, Va. She worked for Reynolds Metals in administration, where she met and married Roy.
Alice leaves a wonderful family and friends who will remember her for her enormous love of golf, her game of bridge, her family, and for being very quick to laugh.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a charitable donation to your favorite charity.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, in the mausoleum at the Westhampton Memorial Park in Henrico, Virginia.

I knew Alice from Richmond Country Club golf. I now live in NC having moved from Richmond 10 years ago. But I still remember how pleasant and kind Alice was....a Joy to play golf with. I´m so sorry and send my condolences to Roy and the family.

Roy, Don and I were so sorry to learn of Alice´s passing. My fondest memory is playing for the first time on a Saturday morning at RCC. While playing with Alice, I hit my first hole in one and got to share the excitement with her. We had hoped to be there for her services but somehow got the days mixed up.
