Christopher Broadnax Obituary
EAST POINT, Ga. - The Rev. Christopher Broadnax, affectionately known as "Chris", died Thursday, April 22, 2004, in East Point.
Born March 12, 1929, in Danville, Va., he was a son of the late John Wallace and Mary Eliza Broadnax.
He attended the Danville public schools. He retired after 30 years of serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and was stationed in the states at West Point and overseas as an officer and chaplain. He lived in New Windsor, N.Y. before moving to Georgia.
He accepted Jesus at an early age and helped to form the gospel group the Gospelaires of Highland Falls, N.Y. and then entered the ministry before going into the military.
He was married to Miriam Williams Broadnax.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christopher Jr., Joey Williams, Tracey Clark, Starla Williams and Phyllis Williams; one sister, Alberta B. Hatchett of Danville, Va., and several grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sisters, Christina, Mary Alice, Amanda, Blondola; and brothers, Alfred and John.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Sellers Brothers in charge of arrangements.
Family, friends and condolences will be received at the residence, 2846 Hogan Road, East Point, GA 30344.
