On January 2, 2017, God said to Doris "Come go with me". She entered the gates of Heaven to live for eternity with her God and the love of her life, husband, Jimmie L. McDaniel. No more Pain, No more Stress, No more Hurt, No more Tears. Mrs. McDaniel was born on February 27, 1940, in Pittsylvania County, Va. daughter of the late Charlie Russell Burnette and the late Doris Madeline McDaniel Burnette. She spent all of her life in the West Fork Community where she worked for Dan River Mills for 46 years as a quality inspector and she worked in the sample department until her retirement. She was an immaculate lady who loved to travel with friends and family. Mrs. McDaniel was a unique lady who never left behind an unfinished task and who will be missed by all that knew her. On January 5, 1957, Mrs. McDaniel married, Jimmie Levern McDaniel who died on August 30, 2007. Survivors include sons, Ricky L. McDaniel and fianc?e, Lisa Dodd and Randall D. McDaniel and wife, Alice, all of Cascade, Va.; sisters, Jane Turner and husband, William and Joyce B. Wilson, all of Cascade, Va.; sisters-in-law, Judy Burnette of Danville, Va. and Betty Jean Stone and husband, Eppie of Winston Salem, N.C.; aunt, Shirley Vaughn of Texas City, Texas; very special best friend, Louise Moss; grandchildren, Richard (Little Ricky), Greg, Josh, Ashley, Olivia, J.P, and Caleb McDaniel who is a second class petty officer of the United States Navy and is stationed in Mayport, Fla. on the U.S. Iwo Jima; great grandchildren, Audrey, Allison, Chloe, Corben, Chase, Madison, McKenzie, Lilly Ann, and Jaxon; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Clyde Burnette; and brother-in-law, W.T. Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted on their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 2 p.m.at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Alton Bartee and the Reverend Matthew Pacifico officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night,January 4, 2017,from 7 until8:30p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence, 13472 Martinsville Hwy, Cascade, VA 24069. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Brosville Vol. Fire Department at 11912 Martinsville Hwy Danville, VA 24541.
