Hazel Talley Obituary


MARTINSVILLE, Va. - Hazel Virginia Tickle Fry Talley, age 84, of Blue Ridge Village, Martinsville and formerly of Wytheville died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003. She was one of the eleven children of the late William A. and Maggie Kitchen Tickle Sr. She was a member of the Jubilee Singers at the Hillcrest Baptist Church of Danville, Va., where she resided since 1998. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Huddle Fry and James Henry Talley; son, Denny Hartwell Fry; grandsons, Timothy Lee Fry and Dennis Ray Fry; brothers, Clarence Tickle, Luther Tickle and Jimmy Tickle; sisters, Elsie Wade and Ethel Puckett.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Della Sue and Gary Moss of Chatham; son and daughter-in-law, Jerrold E. and Nancye Fry of Danville; brothers, Don B. Tickle of Hillsborough, N.C., Charles Carol Tickle of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Freddie Leo Tickle and William Augustus Tickle Jr., both of Keen Mt., Va.; sister, Winnie Deskins of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. in the Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Fiorini. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Grubb Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
