Horace Wilson Obituary


DANVILLE, Va. - Horace Ray Wilson, 51, of 1385 Walnut Creek Road, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at his residence after being in declining health for eight years.

Born October 5, 1953, in Danville, he was the son of Harry Edward Wilson Sr., and Evelyn Russell Wilson.

He had lived his entire life in Danville and was retired due to disability. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was married to Linda Wyatt Wilson on Aug. 26, 1978.

In addition to his wife of the residence and his parents of Danville, he is also survived by a sister, Betty "Booty" Wade of Providence, N.C.; three brothers, Billy Lee Wilson of Bassett, Mark Wilson and Dennis Wilson, both of Danville; and four grandchildren, Heather Nicklow, Thomas Nicklow and Danielle Nicklow, all of Java, and David Kraft of Mountain City, Tenn.

He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Edward "Beaver" Wilson Jr., and a step-son, Johnny Lee Wyatt.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times will be at the residence, 1385 Walnut Creek Road and at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Edward Wilson Sr., 2214 North Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Mount Hermon Fire and Rescue, 4268 Franklin Tpke., Danville, VA 24540.

Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, North Main is in charge of arrangements.

Dear Linda and family I am so sorry to hear about Horace. Im sorry I could not make the funeral. My oldest Son was killed 1 year on the 14th of Nov. So I was having a hard time. My prayers are with you all. Just know that he will always be with you in your heart. He is no longer in pain he is free now.

Linda & family sorry to hear of Horace death. I was shocked to read this in the paper. I knew he has been sick for a while.May god be with you and your family in a time like this. God Bless.
