Isabel Fain Obituary

Isabel Ownby Fain

Isabel Ann Ownby Fain, 86, of 722 Peach Orchard Road, Axton, Va., died on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, after a decline in her health for the past few years.

Isabel was born in Severe County, Tenn., on September 4, 1935, a daughter of the late Jess Lonzo Ownby and Beda Ethel Ogle Ownby. She lived in Tennessee before moving to Axton, Va., in 1972. She worked as a beautician until her retirement.

On March 27, 1954, she married John Douglas "Doug" Fain. He died on January 26, 2011.

In addition to her husband, Isabel was predeceased by one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Hawks and Christa Williams (Scott); two sons, John Fain II and Steven Fain (Sharon); 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Fain Family Cemetery in Axton, Va. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel from 1 until 2 p.m.
