It is with deep sadness to learn about Ike's death. He was such a good friend to my father, Hank Floyd, who died in January of '06. During my Dad's illness, Ike was a loyal and kind friend who visited him throughout his battle against cancer. At Duke, in Danville or in Greensboro, it didn't matter to Ike who would come and spend his time with my dad and give a bright spot to his day. That is the thoughtful and generous person I came to know as "IKE--once a marine always a marine" during my dad's illness. His correspondence and loving support to us was so appreciated. I feel your pain, to have lost such a wonderful person from your lives. Personally, my life is richer for just having known him for that brief period of time. I pray for your strength to carry on and send you and the entire family my sincere and heartfelt sympathies. May God Bless and keep you close to his heart.
