Jane Hudson Obituary

Jane Curtis Hudson

January 3, 1939 - August 26, 2025

Jane Curtis Hudson was born Margaret Jayne Curtis on January 3, 1939, to Charles and Martha Curtis, in Sumter, S.C. Jayne met Lester Hudson very early in life, and the two were married June 16, 1962, and lived happily together until Lester's death in 2024.

Jane lived with Lester and her two sons, Steven and Patrick, in Danville, Va., and then with Lester in Greenville, S.C. Jayne and Lester were nearly inseparable in their many years together, and especially loved to travel, filling their Greenville home with mementos and keepsakes gathered from all over the world. In addition to their travels, Jane and Lester hosted friends and family at their beach home in Edisto Beach, S.C., where the two rarely missed an evening together, watching the sun set from the back porch.

Jane is survived by sons, Steven and Patrick; daughters-in-law, Jennifer and Shannon; and grandchildren, Barbara, Zachary, Joseph, Charles, and Henry. She is remembered for her kindness and persistent cheerfulness, and especially for her Christian faith.

Jane died in her home on the morning of August 26, 2025. The family hopes that her memory will be long-cherished as an example of life and faith, and that loved ones would heed her advice to live a life filled with "faith, family, friends, and fun."

A memorial service will be held at Open Hearts United Methodist Church, Greenville, S.C. on Sunday, September 14th at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the Poinsett Club in Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Open Hearts UMC at 2703 Augusta St, Greenville, SC 29605, or to an Alzheimer's foundation of your choice.

Earlier today

Jane was an instant favorite when we met at Mount Vernon Church. Patrick and Steve were good buddies with our sons. While we were were neighbors in Pinetag. Our adventures were endless. She and Les were a great team. Zan and I were always anticipating another occasion for the us. so sad when
they moved away. Love to Steve and Patrick
