Jerry Hendrix Obituary


MOCKSVILLE, N.C. - Jerry Wayne Hendrix, 63, of Mullins Road, died Monday, June 14, 2004 at Davie County Hospital.

Born December 9, 1950, in Davie County, he was the son of Homer and Debra Lavelle Livengood Hendrix.

He was a mechanic with E & L Motor Company in Mocksville. Mr. Hendrix was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He began a career at West Davie Garage and later worked for Furches Motor Company.

He enjoyed working outside, gardening, and playing with his dogs, Hannah, Shelby and Blue. He was also a committed caregiver to his loving parents.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Mocksville include a daughter, Jodi Dyson of Mocksvile; three brothers, Gene Hendrix of Mocksville, Arnold Hendrix of Danville, Va. and Timothy Hendrix of St. Petersburg, Fla.; also several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 18 at Eaton Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert F. Garrett, with military services conducted by the District 11 Memorial Honor Guard, VFW.

Visitation will immediately follow the service at The Fork Civic Center Building in the Fork Community.

The family requests that memorials be considered for the Financial Aid Department of Forsyth Tech Community College, 2100 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.

My family and I had known Jerry for about 10yrs. He was our mechenic. We trusted him and truly liked Jerry and considered him a friend. He will be missed by all of us.
