Linda Adkins Obituary
Linda Stermer Adkins, 76, of Sutherlin, Va. passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born February 20, 1945 in Corning, N.Y. to the late Maynard G. Stermer and Beatrice Edwards Stermer.
Linda moved to Danville with her parents in 1961. She worked for several attorneys in Danville at various times. She then was privileged to work with her son, Jesse Meadows III in Chatham, Va. from 2001 to 2008. She also loved to bowl, travel with husband and dancing.
Mrs. Adkins is survived by her husband, Danny J. Adkins; stepchildren, Jeff Adkins (Tammy), Tracy Moss (Jeff), Amy Davis (Rusty); one granddaughter; seven stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Slater and Marcia Stermer; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ronald; son, Jesse W. Meadows III; and one stepgrandson, Matthew Adkins.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Danville Memorial Gardens with Charles Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, 300 Golden Lane, Sutherlin, Va.
