Mary Barham Obituary
Mary Lee Owen Barham of Blairs, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the age of 80. She was born on September 16, 1941, to the late Myrtle Mae Neal Shields and the late Harry Adam Shields in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Franklin Owen and her second husband, James Wesley Barham.
Mary was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons, Ricky Owen of Blairs, Virginia, Stanley Owen (Lisa) of Blairs, Virginia, and Barry Owen (Diane) of Brown Summit, North Carolina; her daughter, Velvet Owen of Blairs, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her first and second husbands, she was predeceased by her brother Harry A. Shields Jr.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Oakland United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Owen officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive guests as the residence of Stanley Owen (240 Owen Rd., Blairs, Virginia, 24527).

What a wonderful family and friends. I have known the Owen family when I married my husband. Harry and Myrtle Shields just great people! I remember Mary Lee and her brother Harry Shields,Jr. May she enjoy her time with Jesus and reunion of family and friends! God bless the Owen family with his strength, peace and comfort during this sad time.
