Pearl Waller Younger

GRETNA - Pearl Waller Younger, 74, of 311 Chaney Lane, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 5, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Malissie G. Jackson.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a dietician at Gretna Health Care and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Gretna, where she served on the kitchen committee and was a member of the choir.
She was first married to the late Jerry Hunter Waller; later she married the late Edison Younger.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Jennings of Gretna and Linda Walker of Martinsville; three sons, Larry Waller of Gretna, Michael Waller of Macon, Ga. and James Waller of Jarrett; one sister, Lenora Saunders of Chase City; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one sister, Vergie Booth and four brothers, Harry, Jerry, Billy and Wyle Jackson.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 18 at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy L. Tarpley and the Rev. B. I. Baize Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Viewing and visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Paul Jennings, Northside Drive, Gretna.
