Rachel Crumpton Obituary

Rachel Janney Crumpton, age 76 of Caswell House, Yanceyville, N.C., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2015.She was born on June 4, 1938, in Rockingham, N.C., to the late Jessie James Janney and Christine Wright Janney. Rachel married Eli Loyd Crumpton Jr., in 1956, who preceded her in death in 2002.She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Yanceyville, N.C., where she was active in the Nursery Ministry. Mrs. Crumpton retired from Dan River Mills Inc. after 42 years of service.Mrs. Crumpton is survived by a daughter, Betty Crumpton Helm (Josh) of Providence, N.C.; a brother, Bobby Janney of Newport News, Va.; a biological grandson, Cameron Eli Helm; two chosen grandchildren, Daniel Myers and Jason Myers.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Roger Wayne Crumpton; two brothers, James Janney and Russell Junior Wright Jr.; and a sister, Betty Hankins.A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Community Baptist Church Cemetery, 3050 Old NC Highway 86, N, Yanceyville, NC 27379.The family will receive friends after the service and other times at the daughter's home, 6755 Old NC Highway 86, N, Providence, NC 27315.Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave. Danville is serving the Crumpton family.Online condolences may be made at www.norrisfuneral.com.
