Samuel Henry Montgomery

Samuel Henry Montgomery Eden-Samuel Henry Montgomery, age 71 of 320 East Meadow Road, Eden, passed away on Friday afternoon February 10, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held Monday 2pm, February 13th in Overlook Cemetery. Samuel was born September 2, 1940 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Walter L. and Virgie Dunn Montgomery. He was retired from Miller Brewing with 23 years as an Electrician. He enjoyed Bluegrass,Country and Gospel music and the fellowship at the Cascade Community Center in Cascade, VA. Surviving are his two sons, Richard Todd Montgomery and wife Rita of Cascade, VA, Gregory L. Montgomery of the home, one daughter Leigh Paige King of Eden, one brother Walter J. Montgomery and wife Joan of Eden, two sisters Carol M. Sharp and husband Gene of Eden, Margaret M. Shockley and friend Joe Hill of Eden, two Brothers-in-law Thomas E. Stowe of Eden and Pete Grogan of Reidsville, three grandchildren Meghan, Samuel and Layla, a special friend and his caregiver Sharon Mitchell and family. He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Rollins Montgomery, three sisters Ruby Stowe, Mildred Pruitt and Doris Grogan.
