July 20, 1952 - November 18, 2021

Steven Conway Scott, 69, of Danville, Va., died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.

Mr. Scott was born in Danville, Va., on July 20, 1952, a son of the late Whitcomb Randolph Scott and the late Lillian Wilson Scott.

He spent all of his life in the Danville area where he worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for over 30 years until his retirement. He was also a life member of the Danville Life Saving Crew. In his spare time, he loved to watch Fox News Channel.

On July 31, 1982, he married Marcia Goldstein Scott, who survives of the residence.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Zackary Wilson Scott (Elizabeth Poyner Scott) and Samuel Murray Scott (Brittney Leigh Bosher); two sisters, Susan Lee Grant and Rebecca Zimmerman; and a brother, Whitcomb Randolph Scott.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Reverend Wade Rowland officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA, 24541.

Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Scott family.

Very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. He was a good friend from many years ago. A good man who'll be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. RIP Steve.
