Tessie Ann Sparks, 83, of Danville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025.
Born on November 21, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Bowling and Willie Tomlin Bowling.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Sparks; stepdaughter, Sandra Wright; her brother, Thomas Bowling; and her sisters, Shirley Dalton, Elsie Emerson and Vernell Trail.
Tessie was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. She is survived by her son, Rodney Sparks; grandchildren, Dylan Sparks, Billy Davis, Sherry Burnett, and Daniel Wiitt, whom she loved like a grandson; numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Donna Sparks and Sue Scearce.
She worked for many years as a skilled weaver with the Dan River Company, where she was known for her dedication, work ethic, and warm spirit.
Tessie's kindness, strength, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12 p.m. The family will receive guests from 11 a.m. Following the service, burial will take place at Highland Burial Park.
