William Philip "Flip" Morrissette IV passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, after having suffered complications from diabetes. He was born to Patsy and Phil Morrissette on October 22, 1978. He was predeceased by four loving grandparents.He is survived by his parents, Patsy and Phil Morrissette of Midlothian; his sister, Catherine Baldridge and her husband, Tyson, of Charlottesville; his sister, Elizabeth Bryant and her husband, Brick, of Charlotte; his nieces, Tinsley and Clarke and nephew, Warren.Mr. Morrissette graduated from the Collegiate Schools of Richmond where he ran three seasons of track receiving the Coach's Award. He was graduated from Hampden Sydney College receiving bachelors' degrees in History and Political Science. He was a member of Hampden Sydney College's Society of 91. A devoted boy scout, at age 15 he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and became an Eagle mentor serving as counselor and staff member at Philmont Scout Ranch. He was a member of the Scouting's National Honor Society Order of the Arrow. Flip was a Master Mason and an American Red Cross CPR Instructor. He has been a faithful volunteer exemplifying his devotion to faith, family and friends.Flip's family would like to express their heart-felt gratitude for the loving and professional care Flip received at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. We are forever humbled and grateful for friends and family going the distance to be with him during the saddest of days.Visitation will be at Bliley's Funeral Home, Augusta Chapel, Monday, April 4, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Reveille United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 2 p.m. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Philmont Staff Association, 17 Deer Run Road, Cimaron, New Mexico 87714; Watson Memorial United Methodist Church, 136 N. Main Street, Chatham, VA 24531; or American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
