Young Davis Jr.

January 18, 1931 - October 2, 2022

Young Steele Davis Jr., 91, of 213 Ethel Court, Danville, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Young was born in Iredell County, NC, on January 18, 1931, a son of the late Young S. Davis, Sr., and Mildred Corrine Norris Davis. He retired as a textile designer from Dan River Mills. Young served in the United States Air Force for three and a half years and was a graduate of N.C. State with a bachelor's degree in Textile Design.

Young married Galine Elizabeth Wilson Davis on July 31, 1959, who passed away October 26, 2019.

Young is survived by two daughters, Terri D. Earp (Wes) and Betty D. Tate (Michael), a son, Mark Davis (Susan); four grandchildren, Tyler Hall (Jordan), Michael Davis, Joshua Tate, Elijah Tate, and a great-grandchild, Lucy Hall. In addition to his wife and parents, Young was predeceased by a sister, Patsy Sisson, and a brother, Hugh Davis.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Wrenn Yeatts Funeral Homes Westover Chapel by the Reverend Eric Clark. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

The Davis family would like to give a special thanks to all of Young's caregivers, Tracey, Jessica, Sheila, Connie, and Norma.
