Athlone Campagna Obituary

Mrs. Athlone May Campagna of Godfrey, IL, departed this life at the Hospice of Southern Illinois- Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, IL on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 8:25 PM. ?She had attained the age of 91 years, 8 months and 9 days.
Mrs. Campagna was born on July 27, 1920 at Carrollton, IL the daughter of Frank and Vaughna (Williams) Carter. ?
She was united in marriage to August J. Campagna on November 26, 1939 at Lakeside Park in St. Louis, Mo. and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1981.
Athlone was of the Protestant faith and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. ?She enjoyed line dancing, square dancing and was active in various senior organizations in the Godfrey and Alton area. ?
Left to mourn her passing are her 2 sons, August Campagna and his wife Susie of Edwardsville, IL and Eric Campagna and his wife Kathy of Nashville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kelly Campagna and his wife Sherri, Edward Campagna and his wife Cathy, Courtney Ahlers and her husband Blake and Katie Rhine and her husband Chad; 4 Step Grandchildren, Shane Firsching and his wife Beth, Jennifer Henschen and her husband Brett, Luke and Emily Firsching. 6 great grandchildren, Ethan Campagna, Jeremiah ?and Scott Campagna, Libby and Annie Ahlers and Korbi and Aubrey Rhine; 1 step grandchild, Jayden Henschen; nieces, nephews, other relation and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a sister, Harriet Milner; 2 brothers, Dale and Stanley Carter.
Graveside service will be held at the Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 11 AM with Pastor James Brooks officiating. ?
Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Should friends desire memorials can be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
