Richmond - Beverly Jean Orman Porter, 92, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Bev was born on July 2, 1933 in Edwardsville, Illinois, and was the daughter of Earl and Dorothy Eagan Orman, both of whom preceded her in death. Aside from being a stay-at-home mother, she had worked at several different jobs with the most recent being as an office assistant for Dr. Wiley's dental practice. Bev will be remembered as a fun-loving, enthusiastic, positive person. She loved meeting up with friends and going to her weekly Bible study groups. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, and spending time with her cat, "Wheatie". She liked keeping her bird feeders filled, and loved watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family, and she never missed any activities in which her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were participating.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kim Porter Wiley (Tim) and Karen Porter, both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Joshua Singleton, Casey Wiley (Lindsay), and Keenan Wiley (Anna), all of Richmond, Cody Porter (Kasi) of Richwood, Ky., and Brooke Hinkle (Graden) of Camden, Ohio; and Cody and Brooke's mother, Lori Cole; nine great-grandchildren, Tucker, Brooks, Wilson, Cannon, Bowen, Carson, Kyler, Paisley, and Westen; one sister, Earlene Shaw, of Edwardsville, Ill.; and two nephews, Todd Shaw and Scott Shaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Porter (Tom Ferguson) and Kyle Porter; and a sister, Phyllis Jane Orman.
A celebration of Bev's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service, on Saturday, at the funeral home.
