Charles McCaskill Obituary
Edwardsville - Charles J. McCaskill, age 86, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Madison, Illinois, the son of the late Wilson McCaskill & Rosie (King) Parnell. Charles was the retired Superintendent of the Venice, Illinois Public Schools. Charles had a Master Degree in Science and Education, Doctorate in Philosophy and a Specialist Degree in Education. He married Gwendolyn Issacs on May 28, 1958, in Georgetown, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1998.
Charles is survived by one son, Ronnie McCaskill; daughter, Roschelle McCaskill-Townzen & husband David, of Edwardsville; two grandchildren, Evan Townzen, of St. Louis, & Ethan Townzen, of Edwardsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Charelle McCaskill; & two brothers, Earle & Randell McCaskill.
Charles was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, 32 Degree Mason Pass Master of Jericho Masonic Lodge, Member of Tyree Consistory, and Pass Potentate Aahmes Temple 132, Phi Delta Kappa & Goshen Oaks. He also liked playing golf, bowling, and basketball.
He will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. He will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville. The family request memorials to the Kidney Cancer Association by the website www.kidneycancer.org, or in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.
