Suwanee - Don Dudacek, age 86, of Edwardsville, IL died at 10:01 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Georgia. He was born June 23, 1936 in Ottawa, IL, the son of the late John and Rose (Zelec) Dudacek. He married Kay Ballweg in 1958 in Edwardsville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are three children: Marina (Tim) Dunning of Alpharetta GA, Jeff (Debbie) Dudacek of Norcross GA, and Kathy (Steve) Levers of Wildwood MO; eight grandchildren: Emily Gibson, Adam (Samantha) Gibson, Maggie Dudacek, Zachary Dudacek, Rose Dudacek, Connor Dudacek, Cooper Levers, and Sydney Levers; and one great-grandchild, Augustus Gibson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by their daughter Marcia (the late Scott) Knight. Don was a third generation pharmacist at Ballweg's Drug Store in Edwardsville. He met Kay in high school. They attended college together at SIU Carbondale after which he pursued his pharmacy degree at Washington University in St. Louis. They were married and went on to live a long and happy life together. Don & Kay were members of St. Mary's church until moving to Georgia in 2016. He loved playing and watching tennis, playing cards, bragging about his kids and grandkids, and talking about sports to anyone that would listen.
