Dr. LeRoy Fink Obituary

Dr. LeRoy Louis Fink, age 87, of Hazelwood, MO, formerly of Edwardsville, IL, died at 6:00AM on Friday, January 26, 2018.
LeRoy was born on September 4, 1930 in Edwardsville, IL, the only son of Dr. LeRoy M. and Gladys (Rissi) Fink. His parents preceded him in death.
LeRoy graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1948 and from Washington University in St. Louis in 1952. He received his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1956.
His 4-year surgical residency was completed with the St. Louis University Group Hospitals and Cochran Veterans Hospital.
His long-time surgical medical group partners, Dr. Jay Jensen and Dr. Tom Shine, remained close friends long after LeRoy retired.
LeRoy was a member of St. Ferdinand's Catholic Church in Florissant, MO. He was a world traveler, an avid and able skier, and a passionate watercolorist.
He was a member of the St. Louis Artists' Guild, the Kentucky Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society, having received awards for his work in juried exhibitions. Being a perpetual learner, he attended many watercolor workshops across the country over the years.
LeRoy is survived by and will be deeply missed by his sister, Beverly A. Gorman of Edwardsville; his nieces and nephews, to whom he remained close; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Marion F. Richards and Doris M. Bardelmeier; 4 brothers-in-law, John Mudge, Charles T. Richards, J. M. Bardelmeier and James E. Gorman; a niece, Janet Bardelmeier; and a nephew, Thomas Richards.
Memorials are suggested to St. Ferdinand's Catholic Church, 1765 Charbonier Road, Florissant, MO, 63031 or to the St. Louis Artists' Guild, 12 Jackson Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105.
Visitation will be held from 9AM to 10:30AM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville, IL.
A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL after the service.

Beverly. I was so sorry to read of your brother's passing. The Fink family was always a great name in Edwardsville. I never knew him, but I'm sure he was a very special person to all that knew him.
