Jill Schmidt Obituary

Jill Raquel Schmidt, Age 45, in the company of her family, passed away on November 13, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St Louis MO. She was born December 30, 1968 in Charleston, S.C., to Jean (Lofgren) Schmidt-Rogier and the late Dr. James Robert Schmidt Sr.

She delighted in playing chess, listening/playing music and most of all, making-up/playing games with her children.
She was very much loved and will truly be missed by her three beautiful children: Jayce Nicole, Donovan Ross, and Reagan Emily Feeney; by her mom: Jean Schmidt-Rogier and her step-father: Richard Rogier; by her siblings and their spouses: Jerlyn R. (Schmidt) & Terry Gilmore, James Robert Schmidt Jr & Christine Schmidt, Jan R. (Schmidt) & Vincent Schlueter, and Jenny R. She was taken from them way too soon.

I miss you, Jilly. You were the kindest and most loyal friend. I miss laughing ourselves to tears; your snorting laugh! I wish our children could be family, because you will always be family in my heart. I don´t know your girls and that is so sad. However, I am sure that they carry all the beautiful traits of their Mom. Be free gypsy soul.

Jill was part of so many wonderful childhood memories. Girl Scouts, playing at the pool, goofing around the neighborhood. She was always up for fun and a genuinely good person, from kindergarten through high school, she was truly one of the good ones. Safe travels, my friend.

My condolences to the family, friends and all individuals who were privileged know Jill. I have many warm memories of Jill that are cherished and irreplaceable. Her laugh… it was infectious and vivacious… everyone laughed too. Jilly, may you find the serenity you deserve. You moved on too soon; your kindheartedness touched and created relationships that will live on forever. Your zest for life touched more people than you can ever imagine; the friendship, warmth and strength that you gave was genuine and exclusive to you. Thank you for the unconditional friendship; I am blessed to have been part of your life. No amount of writing can express what you meant to me. Be free, my friend.
