Linda M. Abendroth
Highland - Linda Abendroth, 68 (Nee Todt), of Highland, IL, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital, Breese, IL, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 29, 1956, in Litchfield, IL, to Bernard and Shirley (nee Brown) Todt. On November 28, 1975, she married Bill Abendroth at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
Linda was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1974. Linda attended Kansas City Business College and was a member of the National Court Reports Association. After graduation she worked as a freelance court reporter in downtown Chicago, and then as a court reporter for the State of Illinois in Freeport, IL and for many years in Madison County.
Linda was a girl scout and cub scout leader when her children were younger. She volunteered working at the flea market at Kirchenfest and at St. Paul cafeteria, for many years. Linda loved being a grandma, cooking Sunday dinners, and having all her family together. She loved gardening and working in her yard. She was very selfless, always doing things for everyone else.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Bernard Todt.
Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Abendroth; son, Andrew (Maggie) Abendroth, Highland, IL; daughter, Susan (David) Boduch, Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Jack Abendroth, Ava Abendroth, Grace Abendroth, Lily Boduch, Lucas Boduch; mother-in-law, Alice Abendroth, Highland, IL; siblings, John (Lynn) Todt, Highland, IL, Gary (Laurie) Todt, Highland, IL, Kathy (Jim) Dumstorff, Highland, IL, Steve (Lisa) Todt, Troy, IL, Lisa (Randy) Baltz, Columbia, IL; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Education Fund or Highland Area Community Foundation- Bill & Linda Abendroth Fund.
Visitation: Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 16, 2025, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at Meridith Funeral Home, Highland, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, May 16, 2025, 10 a.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL.
Clergy: Fr. Pat Jakel, Pastor.
Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery, Highland, IL.
Meridith, Funeral Home, Highland, IL.

I´m so sorry to hear about Linda´s passing. She was always a delight to be around and to talk to! She was an amazing court reporter and mentor to me as well! I loved the lunches we went to and just talking to her. She will be missed by many! We all were blessed to have her in our lives.
