Alyce Runge Obituary

SAN ANGELO Alyce Elizabeth Schuch Runge passed from this earth to join her heavenly family on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. She was born Nov. 23, 1922, in San Angelo, Texas, to Cecile and Edwin H Schuch. She was the fourth of seven children. Alyce spent many years as a member of the Angelo Civic Theatre where she participated in many productions. She was also a long time member of the Junior League of San Angelo. She was the former financial secretary for the First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo. Alyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl R. Runge Jr.; her grandson, Paul Christian Runge; her eldest brother, E H Schuch Jr.; her sisters, Frances Barton and Margaret Childs. She is survived by her son, Paul Bean and his wife, Debbie; her daughter, Liz Brown; her grandchildren, Leah Brown, Cassandra Mercer, Catrina Bird, George Bean and Kurt Bean; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Louise Strain, Helen Hope Russell; her brother O. L. Schuch; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Ralph. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Bronte Health and Rehab Center. Their care and kindness will be forever appreciated by her family. She loved all the staff very much. The family would like to extend their thanks as well to VistaCare Hospice and their staff. Alyce was laid to rest in a private graveside service Friday, March 12, 2010. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society of San Angelo.
