CHARLES MCENTIRE Obituary
SAN ANGELO - Charles R. McEntire, 67, of San Angelo passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at his residence. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine. The Rev. Kirt Dauphin, pastor at PaulAnn Baptist Church, will officiate. Charles was born on Feb. 7, 1940, in San Angelo, Texas, to Claude and Velma Cotton McEntire. He worked from 1952 to 1996 for the United States Postal Service in Alpine, Texas. He retired in 1992, as postmaster, after 30 years of service. He was past master mason of the Masonic Lodge in Alpine. He was a president of the Chamber of Commerce and member of the Rotary Club, both in Alpine. After retirement, Charles and his wife, Jerri, enjoyed several years of RV traveling and doing volunteer work in the northwestern United States. They then settled in San Angelo, where Charles became an avid fisherman. In addition to living in Alpine, they also lived in McAllen, Plainview, Fort Davis and San Angelo. He is survived by his wife, Jerri; children Bob McEntire and his wife, Connie, Rick McEntire and his wife, Carla, Debbie Flamm and her husband, Bob, and Marcos Gomez; grandchildren Cody and Chelsey McEntire, Crystal Carrillo, Robert and Kyle Flamm, and Amanda and Katie Gomez; a brother, Don McEntire; four sisters, Jan Pelton, Kay Ramos, Jeanne Ivy and Dean Pelton; brother-in-law B.Z. Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Velma McEntire.

Dear Bobby,Ricky and Debbie, I just found out about your dad. Iwas real sorry to hear about it. He was such a wonderful man.My prayers are with you all and your family at this time. I missed seeing your dad in the old Post Office in Alpine. He was always so happy and pleasant. Maybe God has him as a Post Master up in heaven. I would love to have all three of your mailing addresses.Well please take care and know that I care and God Bless You all at this sad time.
