Charlotte Lear Obituary

Charlotte Eleene Webb

Corbell Lear

San Angelo

Charlotte was welcomed into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ on June 22, 2016.

Charlotte was born June 25, 1919, to Jesse Thomas Webb, Sr. (Jess) and Willia Mabel Cartwright Webb in Van Alstyne, Texas. Two (2) years later she was blessed with a little brother, Jesse Thomas Webb Jr. (JT). When Charlotte was approximately six-years-old, the family moved to Big Lake, Texas. Charlotte spent most of her life in Big Lake, which is where she met her first husband, Lewis Albert Corbell Jr. She and L. A. were blessed with a son, Terry Richard Corbell. L. A. Corbell died in a boating accident in June 1946. Charlotte thereafter married Warner Calvin Lear July 1948. Born to Charlotte and Warner were Timothy Calvin Lear and twin boys Harry Foster Lear and Kye Burton Lear. Warner died in November 1981. Charlotte was a wife, mom, cookie maker, Boy Scout leader, school and insurance secretary and deputy sheriff, but most of all she prized her role as a mother more than anything. She was most proud of her four (4) boys and she always made them her number one (1) priority. When her grandchildren came along she made them the center of her attention and her love.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, J. T. and Lois Webb; her two (2) husbands; and her sisters-in-law, Edith Pettit and Iva Loftin.

She is survived by her four (4) sons, Terry and wife Jackie Corbell, Tim and wife Linda Lear, Dr. Kye B. Lear and Harry F. Lear; a special niece, Jane Webb Braswell and her husband, Mike Braswell; six (6) grandchildren; six (6) great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

Her family would like to express their sincere thanks for the care she received over the past many years from Dr. Linton, the nurses, personnel and friends at Carillon House in Lubbock, Texas and Hospice of Lubbock, Texas.

Graveside services, under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, in Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake, Texas, with Pastor Buddy Helms officiating.

If you wish to honor Charlotte's life, you can contribute to the West Texas Boys Ranch, Sul Ross State University General Scholarship Fund, Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice.
