CLARICE PROCTOR Obituary

SAN ANGELO - Clarice Faye Daniels Proctor passed from this life into the loving arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at home surrounded by her family and friends.She was born on Aug. 21, 1920, in San Angelo to Elva Parton Daniels and Wesley Harvey Daniels.Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the Robert Massie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. A.J. Kennemer Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Belvedere Memorial Park. Services under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.She is survived by her son, Edwin Proctor; and her daughter, Janelle Waddell, both of the home. Also, she leaves behind four grandsons, Tim Proctor and wife Beth of Abilene, Texas, Daniel Waddell of Sanderson, Texas, David Waddell and wife Kim of Abilene, Texas, and Michael Waddell and wife Liz of Defuniak Springs, Fla.She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Claire and Brandon Zane Proctor of Abilene, Danielle and Lane Waddell of Harlingen, Texas, Hayden Emery and Reece Evan Waddell of Abilene, Texas, and Rainey Elizabeth and Ethan Daniel Waddell of Defuniak Springs, Fla.She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Howard James Proctor and a baby, Howard James Proctor Jr.Mother loved to serve those around her. Her family and friends were made to feel at home and were treated with loving hospitality when coming to visit. Mother loved people and enjoyed being connected with Christian Women's Job Corps, Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and Dove Creek Baptist Church. Always having a heart for spreading the gospel, she went on a mission trip to South America where she had the opportunity to share her testimony of her faith in Jesus Christ. She retired from the San Angelo Independent School District after 23 years of working in food service, working as secretary of Fort Concho Elementary and a secretary and bookkeeper for SAISD foodservice department.She was always full of life, always "ready to go" to the beginning of the last month of her life giving the nurses and aides of Triumph Hospital a run for their money. Her children, grandchildren and friends will remember her sweet spirit, her humorous sayings and actions. Life was never dull around Clarice Proctor.Pallbearers will be Timothy Proctor, Danny Waddell, David Waddell, Michael Waddell, Casey Hight and James Kotrla.The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and aides at Community Hospital and Triumph Hospital who helped mother, giving special applause to Dr. Granaghan, her personal physician at Community Medical Associates. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to wonderful friends whose help was invaluable in helping the family to get through this hard time.
