Claude Oran Spencer

ELDORADO Claude Oran Spencer passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2013, in Eldorado, Texas. Service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, in Bailey Ranch Cemetery. Claude, also known as Claudie, was born Nov. 4, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas, to Edgar and Jesse (Jake) Spencer. The family lived and ranched in the Bailey Ranch community until moving to Eldorado. Most everyone in Eldorado was familiar with Claude as he drove his Volkswagen or "Yellow Bug" with the big antenna, pulling the trailer with his lawnmower to his lawn jobs. He was also employed by the City of Eldorado for many years. Claude was somewhat of a "town character", friendly with everyone he knew and met. For the past several years, Claude was a resident of the Schleicher Co. Nursing Home. Claude was preceded in death by his parents; brother Joe Ed; and sisters Barbara and Peggy. Survivors include his nephews and nieces, John Spencer, Carla Spencer Cockerham, Monta Hill Parker, Eddie Hill and Kelly Cavel; and also great-nephews and nieces and a large extended family of cousins. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Claude's name to the Schleicher Co. Nursing Home where was loved and cared for.
