CLYDE McALISTER Obituary
Clyde "Mac" McAlister, 74, of San Angelo, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in San Angelo. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Tingle officiating the service. Interment will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Beloved husband, father and papa, Clyde "Mac" McAlister was born in Vernon, Texas, on Jan. 25, 1929. He married the love of his life, Billie Smith on Aug. 1, 1948, spending 55 years together as husband and wife and raising five daughters. He loved to fish and hunt. Daddy could tell some stories and had pictures to back them up. Clyde was a road master for the Santa Fe Rail Road for 46 years and retired in 1990. He was known for his homegrown pickles that he shared with everyone. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and G.W. McAlister; brothers, Raymond, Carl, Harrison, Paul and Joe; and sisters, Daisy and Mabel. Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Billie McAlister of San Angelo; brother and sister-in-law, A.J. and Judy McAlister of Post; sister, Ann Crawford of Weatherford; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Lewis Kuykendall of Comanche; sister and brother-in-law, Verda and Glen Slater of Post; his daughters, Patricia Watson and husband, Dr. Darrell Watson, of Belton, Sue Marburger and husband, Glenwood Marburger, of Miles, Ellen Bear of Irving, Janice Borron of Argyle and Brenda Neill and husband, Loyd Neill, of Miles; his grandchildren, Mike Watson and wife, Brandy, of Georgetown, Shea Fletcher of Atlanta, Ga., Ronnie Watson and wife, Samantha, of Austin, Melissa Engleman of Austin, Alan Watson of Belton, Brandon Churchwell of Miles, and Austin and Tara Tuomey of Argyle; great-grandchildren, Aegis and Eryl Shanklin of Atlanta, Ga., and Adrianne and Zack Watson of Georgetown, Texas; and special friends, Tom Massey, A.H. Wainwright, A.J. Jones, Gene Green and Linda Lemly. Pallbearers for the service will be A.J. Jones, Manley Morgan, Tom Massey, Floyd Seaton, David Gilley and L. Grantham. The family would like to thank Shannon Home Health Care and Shannon Hospital's caring doctors and staff for all of their efforts. Too briefly you were with us, Even quicker you were gone.
