I am so sorry that I did not know of Harry's passing until today.

Thirty years ago I left England to take up a banking position in Coral Gables. I had met Harry on a previous visit to Miami, and he kindly invited me to stay with him until the house I bought was ready to live in. His generous hospitality started off a friendship that lasted for the five years I lived in Miami, and then became dormant only because of the distance that lies between Asheville and Los Angeles. We went through hard years of loss together - too many of our young friends passed away - and Harry was always my comforter, my mentor, his calmness, wisdom and gentle sympathy a rock to which I and other friends could cling in those terrible days.

I am truly grateful to have known such a kind and selfless man, and I shall always miss him.
