HULAN McDANIEL Obituary

BALLINGER - Hulan Ruford "Mac" McDaniel, 79, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in Shannon Hospital after a brief illness. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, in Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Hulan was born May 25, 1924, in Crews, Texas, to David Jefferson and Minnie Lee Williams McDaniel. He married Marie Holman on March 6, 1947. He entered into the Army Air Force on Feb. 16, 1943, and served in France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged from the Army Air Force at the conclusion of World War II in 1945. He was an auto body mechanic in Ballinger until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Barbara Harrison; his son, David McDaniel; his brothers, Ocie Green, Edward Merle McDaniel, Leland McDaniel, Z.L. McDaniel, Thomas Buford McDaniel, and Billy Ray McDaniel, and his sister, Mary Alvinia "Sis" Whitlock. He is survived by his loving wife, Lelia Marie McDaniel of Ballinger; his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Judy McDaniel of Sonora; Jesse Phillips of Mineral Wells; and a daughter-in-law, Karen McDaniel of Ballinger. He also is survived by a sister-in-law, Virginia McDaniel of Ballinger; grandchildren, Gail Phillips of San Antonio, Scott Phillips of Austin, Lance Phillips of Weatherford, Lisa Caveness of Krum, Danna Boykin of Plano, Lee McDaniel of San Angelo, Julie McAfee of Ballinger, Bryan McDaniel of Burleson, Brandon McDaniel of Palm City, Fla., Bradley McDaniel of Lubbock and Brett McDaniel of Sonora. He also is survived by his grandchildren's spouses, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
