Imogene Bradley Obituary

SAN ANGELO Imogene Little Bradley was called home Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, in San Angelo, Texas, at Shannon Medical Center. She was born on a farm in Rowena, Texas, to Lydia Barina Little and Randell Little on Nov. 9, 1930. Imogene was a member of Belmore Baptist Church and loved all of her Sunday school members. Imogene was extremely proud of her service to General Telephone Company where she worked as telephone operator #71 for 34 years, beginning in 1948 and retiring in 1982, when she was so thrilled to be able to be available in helping take care of her first grandchild, Kristi. Mimi, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed taking care of all of her grandchildren and spending time with them. She considered them her crowning glory. All of her immediate family were able to get together with her for her 80th birthday and celebrate in Granbury, Texas. Mimi was a very giving person, and she always knew what to say at just the right time. She never met a stranger, as she always started a conversation with just about everyone she encountered. Her survivors include her daughters,Karla Oquin and husband Kevin of San Angelo, Mar-Gay Collett and husband Ernest of San Angelo; grandchildren Kristi Oquin Carlson and husband Erik of Allen, Texas, Aaron Oquin of San Angelo, Calob Collett and wife Danielle of Waxahachie, Texas, Jake Collett and Shanna Collet of San Angelo; sisters Nelda Sharp of San Angelo, Betty Sue Vick, Louise Wynn, Carolyn Lawson and Patsy Sicinski, all from the Houston area; brother Alton Baird of San Angelo; Lester Little of Alvin, Texas and Larry Little of the Houston area. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Allen Little. Family visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Dick Mahler officiating.
