John Cuellar Obituary

BALLINGER John Henry Cuellar, 59, of Ballinger, Texas, was received by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at home with his family surrounding him with love. He was born July 18, 1954, in Blooming Prairie, Minn., to Guadalupe and Irene Cuellar. He was a brother, a pastor, a friend, and foremost, a father. His faith and wisdom guided many along his journey here on Earth. His sense of humor can never be matched. He could turn the saddest moments into uncontrollable laughter with just a few simple words. This is the man we all love and will miss so much. It is this fateful moment that our Father in Heaven has called him home to finally rest in peace. He leaves behind to await them in Heaven: the love of his life, Joelda Cuellar; and his children, Rebecca Cuellar and special friend Jeff Samaniego of St. Petersburg, Fla., Melinda and husband Justin Duffy of McKinney, Texas, John Gabriel and wife Cari Cuellar, Elizabeth and husband Johnny Fernandez and John Isaak Cuellar of Ballinger, Texas. The lights of his life, his grandchildren: Mykaela, Maryssa, Jenessa, Koda, Joey, Kash, Zaynah, baby Duffy and Izaiah. He is survived by his mother, Irene Cuellar; his brothers, Robert, Anselmo and Andrew Cuellar; and sister Eva Munroe, all of Hondo, Texas; as well as a brother, Rudy Cuellar of Ballinger, Texas; and Guadalupe Jr. and Irma Cuellar of San Angelo, Texas; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; and a dear adopted grandma, Olivia Perez of Ballinger, Texas. He also leaves behind countless others who called him Dad or Popo. He has always embraced the lost and those God saw fit to bless with his paternal guidence and love. It is now his turn to be embraced by Our Father above. We long to hear your laughter. Yet, our hearts are at peace knowing that you are reunited with your father, Guadalupe; our departed sister, Veronica; brother John Henry Jr.; and Grandpa Gomez. And we can't wait to meet you again, Dad! Officiating the services are the Rev. Buddy Moore and the Rev. Ben Gomez held at First United Methodist Church in Ballinger. Two services will be held. A celebration service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at First United Methodist Church and funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Latin-American Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held at the Cuellar family home located at 507 Sealy Ave., Ballinger, TX 76821, concluding prior to the service on Sunday, Sept 1. The Cuellar family would like to express their gratitude to Ballinger Hospice, especially the nurses and aides, for their compassion and tenderness provided to our dad. Arrangements are with Lange Funeral Home. Guests may register online at ballingerfuneralhome.com.

You will always be remembered in our hearts of the kind and gentle man you were with everyone you met and making people laugh with your words of laughter. I will always remember you my brother as we grew up together having that close bond and love brother to brother.

I will miss you but I'll see you again someday

Please accept my sincerest sympathies for your loss. John was one of the kindest men, I've ever had the honor of knowing. He performed the marriage ceremonies of both of my children, and I know in my heart that he truly blessed their lives in doing so. I am so very sorry for your loss, but I know you find peace in knowing he is truly home now!
