Lou Ann Rogers, age 63 of Menard, passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. Service is at Heritage Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016. Family visitation will be from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. prior to the service; interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard.

Lou Ann was born May 24, 1953, to Wanda Jean (Turner) Knight and the late Hubert Kenneth Knight. She graduated from Menard High School, and married Skeet Rogers, in 1974. She was an active member of 4H for a while, a teacher's aide for 26 years, and head of the cafeteria at one time. She also worked for Bevans State Bank, taught head start, and baked for Lazy Ladle (Side Oats). She was very involved with the Critter Shack. Lou Ann was an excellent cook, who was known for her baking. Her most recent accomplishment was champion dessert at MVFD Chili Cook Off, winning with a dessert she made on a gas grill. She was a very caring and loving person; she was always helping others. One of her great joys was being a care giver to her mother. Family and friends were Lou Ann's passion and delight, along with her much loved animals. She was an incredible person that had a beautiful smile and a great big heart.

Lou Ann is survived by her Mother Wanda Jean Knight; husband Skeet Rogers; one daughter Mandy Rogers Bushell and husband Colby of Kyle; one son Justin Rogers of San Angelo; one grandson Mason Tucker Rogers; she is also survived by numerous loving relatives and friends; and her much loved dog Turtle.

Lou Ann is preceded in death by her father Hubert Kenneth Knigh; and one brother Kenny Knight.

Pallbearers will be Hoppy Murchison, Kole Murchison, Kale Murchison, Tyler Wagner, Beau Tipton and Ricky Rezzlle, Honorary Pallbearer Jessica Hernandez.
