Lucille Walker Obituary
San Angelo
Lucille Ann Walker, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home at 3:47 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Lucille, or "Chink", as she was known because of her love of Chinese food, was born Oct 2, 1940 in Dos Palos, California. Her parents were Thelma and Clyde Cox. Momma loved to square dance, make ceramics, collect cookbooks and take care of her family and plants.
Lucille is survived by her husband Gary W. Walker. They were the love of each other's lives for 56 years. Together they had three children: Carolyn, Gordon and Johnny and wife Sheri. She had 13 grandchildren: Derric Lewis, Jessica Walker, Josh Walker, Jeremy Walker, Lindsay Fowler and her husband Jason Fowler, Heath Foley, Heather Foley, Hannah and her husband Bryan Shields, Diana and her husband Kane Pennywitt and Dausen Walker. Also 10 great-grandchildren: Michael Shields, Acelyn Fowler, Taelyn Walker, Ryland Foley, Bentlee Shields, Liam Fowler, Jaxson Pennywitt, Myracle and Malaysia Foley and Aubrey Shields.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at The Dialysis Center, St. John's skilled nursing, Hospice of San Angelo, Dr. Ty Hughston and Dr. Vicki Forlano for all of their compassion, support and love.
Visitation will be held all day today, Sunday, May 15 at the funeral home with family present 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16 in Belvedere Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
Honey, Momma and Nanny, you will always be in our hearts and we rejoice that you are healed and happy!
"All join hands in a great big ring, circle around and round with the dear little thing." Enjoy dancing in the streets of gold, until we can meet together and "Do si do."
