I had the honor to work with Dr. Carlo when I was the Executive Director of The American Institute of Chemists and he was our Treasurer. He always made me laugh and when we did meet in various locations (Las Vegas comes to mind), he always had a drink and joke. He was a true friend and we kept in touch through the years. I'm sorry that I am just finding out about his passing. Sharon Dobson

Very sorry to hear this news--actually thought about Dr. Carlo just the other day in reference to teaching. I had him for intro to chemistry and learned incredible information. Most of all, he was a great example of teaching in higher education, which is what I do as well. He was a terrific inspiration. Dr. Carlo, you will be missed, and never forgotten.

This is truly a loss. Dr. Carlo was a wonderful professor. I had no clue about Chemistry until I took his classes and he was so good at teaching, he made an A student out of me. I am so sorry for the family's loss. He will be missed.
