Tommy Evans Obituary

SAN ANGELO Tommy David Evans, 75, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 10, 2010. A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at the Bible Barn officiated by Rev. Randy Hinds. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home. Tommy worked as a truck driver for 26 years before retiring from Sherwood Oil Company. He was an active member of the Bible Barn and loved his Lord. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Tommy was a very loving man and always put his family's needs above his own. His wife, children, grandchildren, and friends will remember him dearly for all the camping trips he took them on and how much fun they had fishing. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, Herma Lee Carper and a sister, Barbara Parks. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Evans; his sons, Tommy Dale Evans and David Evans; his daughters, Virginia Mohler and husband Bill and Brenda Smith and husband Gary, all of San Angelo; and daughter Terrie Williams and husband Bobby of Farmersville, eleven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch.

On this last day of my Daddy's online guest book, I must add that my Daddy was the greatest man I ever knew. He woked hard for his family and he loved deep. My life will never be the same with him gone on to heaven. However I Know I will see him again. He can not come back to me but I will go to where he is sommeday. Praise God Tommy Evans was my earthly Father. How could I ask for more than that?

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS SHIRLEY AND FAMILY. LOVE YOU AND GOD BLESS!

July 13, 2010

Tommy was a talented man, who would drop a project he was working on to do yours for you if you had a need. His birthday was August 5th and mine the 6th. Even though he was a friend, he was like my dad away from my real dad. He and Shirley went with my wife and I on our Honeymoon, or we went with them, I am not sure which.
Had some good times running all over the country together.
