William OZee Obituary

Dr. William F. O'Zee

San Angelo

Dr. William Frederick O'Zee, of San Angelo, passed away Oct. 22, 2015.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at First Methodist Church and officiated by Rev. Sam Hunnicutt.

William was born on Dec. 1, 1922, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John Robert and Winnie Delpha Shephard O'Zee. On Oct. 17, 1941, he married Juanita Boyd in Weatherford, Texas.

He attended Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Oklahoma State University, The University of Texas, Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, an honor society; Pi Kappa Alpha, a social fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity.

He was a member of Concho Masonic Lodge 1260 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. William also served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the administration at The University of Texas and Colorado State University where he was on the faculty as well. He retired from Angelo State University, where he was member of the administration and faculty. He moved to San Angelo in 1968.

He was an avid reader, enjoying most areas of the written word; fishing in Colorado and Wyoming; and taking advantage of any opportunity to play golf.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Boyd O'Zee; his parents; sister Wanda June Smith; brothers Samuel Robert O'Zee and Barney Jack O'Zee; and sister-in-law Juanita O'Zee.

Survivors include his three daughters, Beverly O'Zee of San Angelo, Rebecca Howard and husband William of Kerrville, and Sheryl O'Zee of Illinois; brother-in-law Bracket Smith of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank nurse Rebecca from Intrepid, the nurses and caregivers of Meadow Creek Nursing Center, the staff of Bee Hive and Hospice of San Angelo.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo.

Mr. Ozee "Billie" as he called himself when he was trying to do something hard made an impact on my life and will never be forgotten. He had the best personality and will always be my favorite VIP patient. Rest in peace. Prayers for the family.
